1. What is Parkinson's disease (main symptoms)

Parkinson's disease is caused by a deficiency of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. It is a disease that is commonly seen in the elderly. Since the disease progresses slowly over years, early detection is important. The main symptoms are as follows.

  • Shaking limbs (tremor)

  • Slow movement (oligomotion, immobility)

  • muscle stiffness (rigidity)

  • Poor body balance = more likely to fall (posture reflex disorder)
