Introduction to Orthopedic Surgery

1. What is Orthopedic Surgery

Our orthopedic department is fully equipped with examination equipment such as X-ray, MRI, CT, bone mineral content measurement equipment, nerve conduction velocity test, etc., and a wide range of diagnostic and Respond to treatment.

In our outpatient clinic, we have prepared a wealth of explanatory materials for orthopedic diseases, and strive to provide easy-to-understand and convincing medical care. We also provide materials for those who wish.

Rehabilitation treatment includes physical therapy such as heat therapy and traction therapy under the direction of doctors, mainly certified rehabilitation doctors, as well as exercise therapy by a full staff of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. it is possible to receive We also handle the prescription and manufacture of various types of braces, as well as the manufacture of aftercare braces.

Rheumatology society specialists are enrolled, and we also provide medical treatment for rheumatoid arthritis.

2. Diseases treated by orthopedics

  • osteoporosis

  • Low back pain (vertebral compression fracture, intervertebral disc herniation, lumbar spinal canal stenosis, etc.)

  • Stiff shoulders (cervical spondylosis, cervical disc herniation, thoracic outlet syndrome, etc.)

  • Knee joint (osteoarthritis of the knee, meniscal injury, anterior cruciate ligament injury, ligament injury, etc.)

  • Shoulder joint (such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder periarthritis (joint contracture), calcific tendonitis)

  • Hands and elbows (tendonitis of trigger fingers, tennis elbow, osteoarthritis of the elbow, hands and fingers)

  • osteosynthesis

  • peripheral nerve disease

  • rheumatoid arthritis

3. Treatment

a.Osteoporosis
I try to incorporate the latest diagnostic criteria and treatment methods. Bone metabolism markers can be tested. We also treat with teriparatide.

b. Lumbar pain
We focus on detailed examinations, including MRI, and conservative therapy. Detailed diagnosis and treatment of vertebral compression fractures, intervertebral disc herniation, lumbar spinal canal stenosis, etc. can be performed. For rehabilitation, if physiotherapy is not effective, exercise therapy is performed by a physiotherapist.

c.Stiff shoulders

We conduct a detailed examination and treatment of diseases that tend to cause stiff shoulders, such as cervical spondylosis, cervical disc herniation, and thoracic outlet syndrome. I do medication, physical therapy, and exercise therapy.

d. Knee joint

Knee osteoarthritis, meniscal damageWe are working on a wide range of wounds, anterior cruciate ligament injuries (including protective early exercise therapy), and ligament injuries. MRI and arthroscopy can be used for diagnosis and treatment.

e. Shoulder joint

For rotator cuff tears, shoulder periarthritis (joint contracture), calcific tendonitis, etc., we provide conservative therapy centered on drug therapy and rehabilitation, as well as surgery using arthroscopy.

f. Hands and elbows

We diagnose and treat tenosynovitis of the trigger finger, tennis elbow, and osteoarthritis of the elbow, hand, and fingers. We also perform tendonectomy surgery.

g. Osteosynthesis

For the most common hip fracture, we perform surgery as early as possible to get out of bed early, and use the convalescent ward to smoothly return to home life. We actively use locking plates for distal radius fractures and proximal humerus fractures to ensure early recovery and less aftereffects.

h. Peripheral nerve disease

Carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, tarsal tunnel syndrome, etc. are examined and treated using nerve conduction velocity (evoked electromyogram). We also perform endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgery.

i. Rheumatoid arthritis

We try to diagnose and treat according to the guidelines as much as possible, and we use DMARDs (anti-rheumatic drugs), mainly methotrexate, and biologics for treatment.
